Who we are
Old Friend Pet Aftercare, LLC (“Old Friend,” “we,” “us”) provides deceased pet pickup, transport, and cremation coordination for families and veterinary clinics in San Diego and Southern California. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. It also includes our SMS (text message) Terms & Conditions.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to care for your pet and communicate with you:
- Contact information: your name, phone number, email address, and the address where your pet will be picked up.
- Pet information: your pet’s name, species, breed, approximate weight, and the cremation and keepsake options you choose.
- Service details: pickup and return times, notes you share with us, and information from your veterinarian if they referred you.
- Payment information: payments are handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: records of calls, emails, and text messages between you and us.
How we use your information
- To arrange pickup, transport, cremation, and the return of your pet’s remains.
- To contact you by phone, email, or text about your service, including confirmations, arrival updates, and return coordination.
- To process payment and keep business and tax records.
- To follow up after service, which may include a one-time request for feedback.
- To meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services:
- Our licensed crematory partners, who receive the details needed to carry out your pet’s cremation.
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as payment processing, online forms, phone and text messaging, and email. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Your veterinarian or clinic, when they referred you or are holding your pet, to coordinate pickup.
- Authorities, when required by law.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS consent and phone numbers are not shared with any third parties.
How we protect and keep your information
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information and keep it only as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal and record-keeping requirements.
Your choices
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing care@oldfriendaftercare.com or calling (619) 604-3219. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
SMS Terms & Conditions
By providing your mobile number and agreeing to receive texts, whether on our intake form, by phone, or in writing, you consent to receive text messages from Old Friend Pet Aftercare at that number.
- Types of messages: service-related messages only, including our intake form link, pickup confirmations, arrival updates, updates on the return of your pet’s remains, and occasional follow-up after your service. We do not send marketing texts.
- Message frequency varies based on your service, typically a few messages over one to two weeks.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- To opt out at any time, reply STOP. You will receive one confirmation message, and no further texts will be sent.
- For help, reply HELP or call us at (619) 604-3219.
- Consent to receive texts is not a condition of using our services.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last changed.
